The 2024 New 5 Series plug-in hybrid model is equipped with a new modular efficient dynamics device. Through this, the 5 Series Hybrid’s 6-cylinder and 4-cylinder gasoline engines and BMW eDrive technology will be combined.
The new powertrain is more powerful and delivers instantaneous power, improving efficiency and extending all-electric range.
The electric motor developed for this new plug-in hybrid is integrated with the power electronics of the BMW 5 Series and an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission.
It can support an output of up to 197 horsepower. Accordingly, the BMW New 550e xDrive sedan produces a maximum system output of 489 horsepower.
The charging capacity of the high-voltage battery with a capacity of 19.4kwh is 7.4kw.
It has doubled in size compared to the previous generation model, and the battery can be fully charged in 3 hours from a discharged state.
